Introducing Denise Disney!
Pendulum is excited to (re)introduce Senior Project Architect Denise Disney, AIA, NCARB, who joined our team in 2023. With Kansas City roots and a career spanning over 30 years, Denise has a diverse and impressive portfolio, marked by her creativity, expertise, and dedication to design excellence. We look forward to seeing more of Denise’s energy and expertise positively impact our team, and the contributions she is bringing to our projects and company culture.
Welcome, Jacob!
We are pleased to introduce another recent addition to the Pendulum design team, architect and Studio Lead, Jacob McLain. Jacob’s journey in architecture is a testament to his hands-on, design-forward approach to crafting spaces that are as functional as they are beautiful. For more than six years, he has led projects that span from public libraries and schools to FEMA shelters, bringing creativity, technical expertise, and an unwavering commitment to quality at every step—from concept to construction. His work is defined by an ability to collaborate with stakeholders and take a hands-on approach in every phase of a project, ensuring each design reflects the needs of its community. Jacob’s passion for architecture lies in building environments that enhance lives—balancing aesthetics, innovation, and utility.
Welcome, Chris!
Pendulum is excited to welcome Chris Sziabowski to the firm! With over 20 years of experience in architecture, Chris Sziabowski joins the Pendulum team as Technical Lead based in our Mid-Atlantic office. Chris offers a full breadth of design and construction experience with projects of all scales and markets across the country. Over 10 years ago, Chris began collaborating with Pendulum on several ballpark projects (Dunkin’ Park and Jimmy John’s Field to name a few), bringing fully realized designs into built sports facilities. Through these successful projects, Chris has grown as an architect and team leader.
We are delighted to have Chris join us – the Pendulum keeps swinging!

His career embodies a collaborative philosophy, championing a “Design Democracy” that surfaces the best ideas. His commitment to creating spaces with purpose and elegance stems from an understanding of architecture as both an art form and a means to enhance the human experience. In his role as an architect and now Director of Design at Pendulum, Neill has embraced responsibilities across every phase of the design and construction process. His portfolio encompasses project types as varied as corporate headquarters, data centers, country clubs, sports facilities, private residences, museums, and libraries.
Congratulations, Cedric!
Pendulum is excited to announce the promotion of Cedric Lowe, CCM to the firm’s Associate Principal.
Cedric Lowe is a veteran construction management professional bringing over 20 years of experience in the industry to Pendulum. Fittingly nicknamed the “Swiss Army Knife” of the firm, as over his career, he has successfully managed a diverse array of project types including education (K-12 and Higher Ed), sports & stadia, hospitality, and healthcare. Cedric looks forward to continuing to grow the firm’s presence throughout the Southeast region from its North Carolina office. With his work on sports facilities projects in recent years, he considers it to be a truly full-circle moment as he was born and raised in Canton, Ohio - home of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Welcome, Todd!
Pendulum is excited to welcome Todd Ferry to the firm as our Studio Director, Mid-Atlantic Region! Todd Ferry is an award-winning researcher, educator, and architect recognized internationally for his work in the field of public interest design. He joins Pendulum as the Director of the firm’s work in the Mid-Atlantic region following over a decade in leadership at Portland State University’s ground-breaking Center for Public Interest Design. His work often investigates how new architecture developments and typologies can support communities through participatory design processes aimed at more impactful civic spaces, housing, and community planning. Todd is also a Co-Founder of the Homelessness Research and Action Collaborative (HRAC) and is a thought leader around alternative shelter and tiny house design, with his research and design work in this area being cited in publications ranging from Architectural Record to The New York Times.

‘Braves Ready to Move South’
- Joe Mock - BaseballParks.com, USA TODAY Network
“The way people watch baseball has shifted over the last twenty years. While traditions of old related to the way the game is played remain, the average patron in the ballpark is different, expectations are higher. Patrons are demanding unique options when it comes to food, beverage, and even type of seat. The typical demographic of attendees at games is no longer male dominated; women and extended families are now the norm. There is an overwhelming demand for enhanced technology from inside the park to the outside world. The Braves have consistently demonstrated that they understand where the sports business market is headed and have managed to operate ahead of the curve.
Our design of Cool Today Park appropriately compliments the Braves ability to look ahead and to deliver an experience for their fans that will be unparalleled in spring training. Our design celebrates the Braves’ rich history by honoring baseball hall of famers in larger than life imagery on select building facades. We’ve borrowed elements from Sun Trust Park such as outfield wall dimensions and several other amenities so that players and fans alike that attend games in North Port will feel like they are at home. We are incredibly excited about unveiling the design to the public on March 24, 2019. We are confident it will be a day that fans will remember.”
